smex: Thanks for getting back to me. I was curious if anyone knew what the symbol was. Up until just a few weeks ago, the QFeed symbol for the Dow Jones 65 Composite was COMP. Then suddenly the title bar for the COMP charts changed to "Nasdaq Composite Indx". Of course the data was still the Dow Jones 65 Composite. In addition, the COMPX index got a name change as well. The title bar for those charts changed from "Nasdaq Composite Indx" to "Nasdaq Combined Composite Indx".

When I enquired about this, about two weeks after my enquiry I received the following reply...on Jan 30, 2002

Thank you for contacting Quote.com, a part of the Lycos Network.
The symbol COMP is the Nasdaq Composite and the COMPX is the combined
composite.

If there is anything else that I can do for you, please let me know.

I replied to her response and sent her a link to the Dow Jones web site page for the Dow Jones 65 Composite. My effort to educate her was a waste of time as you can see by the following charts...

Here is a comparison of QFeed's INDEX:COMP and INDEX:DJC
lgscharts.homestead.com

They look the same to me. The only difference I can see is the title bar.

By the way, do you know the difference between the "Nasdaq Composite Index" and the "Nasdaq Combined Composite Index"? TIA

Regards,
LG
