Tom, the seeding this year could make all the difference. Yesterday on WFAN (the NY all-sports radio) they were saying that no matter who is crowned ACC champion, they think MD will be the #1 seed in the East so that they play in DC at the MCI Center. Duke will be the #1 seed in the South so they play in Greenville, SC. The rationale being that each team deserves to play close to home in the early rounds. Kansas, similarly, would be #1 in the Midwest so they could play in St. Louis. Since the East and Midwest winners eventually face each other in the semis, it would seem to give an edge to Duke to at least make the finals over them. Nevertheless, Duke-MD IV might decide the national champion.
