While I am not in favor of attacking Iraq (at least at this time), I don't think it would be that difficult to make the place democratic. The place is already relatively secular, and that's half the battle, at least in the religion - run - amok Middle East.

It would a hell of a lot easier than bringing democracy to Afghanistan. Maybe even easier than Pakistan. But I don't see this as a good enough reason to start a war.

To get a democracy you would have to root out the Bath party,

The Iraqis would do that, given a little freedom.
