the fundamentals are not all that bad there really. Of course, fundamentally they ARE that bad, but to see things you would never know it. In the microcosm, i think of one friend whose business is 50 million in the hole, but he lives the good life, I assure you. As for pessimism, yes, the ingrediants there do seem about right for an IT bottom at least.

Allan, the Wednesday the week before options expiration is historically quite a volatile day. I've noticed it when I've been watching it the past several months. We'll see for sure tomorrow.

As for Japan's fundamentals, I'll leave that to Heinz <G>.
