Ann,

I have to agree with Neocom. Especially if you look at the 20th Century. In the 20th Century, most of the killing was over economic systems (usually democide by either International or National Socialists).

The titanic struggle during the 2nd half of the 20th Century was between two States with no State Religion...though the United States added "under God" to the Pledge during the 50's.

That is right, ignore all of the secular examples and try to stretch what few things you can think of...

The fact is, you have no idea if the territorial claim in Northern Ireland would suffice to keep up hostilities;

The War of the Roses was a dynastic war;

I have already discussed the Crusades. I am sorry if you missed it;

The Holocaust was over race, not religion. You could be a Lutheran, and if one grandparent was Jewish, you would be sent to a camp;

Again, Bosnia is more a matter of history and territory than mere difference of religion.
