Compaq Gets Several Education Agreements Totaling $250 Million

HOUSTON -(Dow Jones)- Compaq Computer (NYSE: CPQ - news) Corp. (CPQ) received a series of contracts with education customers totaling more than $250 million, including a service provider agreement with the Houston Independent School District, worth more than $120 million if all options are exercised.

In a press release Wednesday, the company said the three-year technology agreement with the Houston Independent School District covers technologies including iPAQ PocketPC handheld and Blackberry wireless devices, Evo laptops and desktops, industry-standard ProLiant servers, and other services....
