japan short sales -- everything i have read about the new japanese restrictions on short sales points to shorts similar to american restrictions. apparently japan was able to short on down ticks previously (as in our futures markets), and the new restriction is they can only short on upticks. unless i missed something this just brings them up to the same restrictions the usa has.
