Mmmm, No. Plan A's not going to fail. I give it a > 90% chance of success(as defined as profitable in 5 years), even in the presence of X86-64.

And I *HATE* the idea of IA-64 & think it's the wrong way to go.

X86-64 looks to me like it's less likely to be around in 2020 than IA-64. But I'll bet there'll be a lot more X86-64 computers around 2 years from now than there are IA-64s.
