how many incidents are attributed to one predator over time

I posted that yesterday. 117 I think it was.

Very interesting, although I have various questions

As you and Bill mention, there are a lot of questions about the data. Some of the studies, like this one, ask adults to report. Some may have blocked or invented the memories or are still to traumatized to say. Who knows? Some of them are based on reported incidents and we know that at least some number go unreported. Some of the data speak to numbers of victims and others speak to numbers of pedophiles and others to numbers of incidents. These brief clips do not tell us which are which. And of course, a lot of studies aren't well done. I don't think we can get any more from the data than a sense of the issue--maybe orders of magnitude. Better than guessing.

I don't know where this fits into the discussion but it should be noted. We rarely have a concern if we know an adolescent girl is crawling into bed with her mom, grandmother, or aunt and snuggling close to fall asleep on a cold winters eve. If it were a dad, there would be cause for concern. If an adolescent boy were to do the same with either mom or dad eyebrows would raise.
