my broker. sometimes this happens in a fast market, and sometimes because pacific and philadelphia are, well, let's just say.. not so great. technically, if you could exchange direct, it would be possible to take advantage of such an event. i.e. sell on the pacific, buy on the new york. my broker discourages it... i.e. they don't want to do it. either way, the quote is a composite. for accuracy you actually have to call in to find out what best price is. so.. if none of that's true, i got a 1/2 hour's worth of pretty good lying from my firm. maybe KT can rule on this <g>
