Sure Warp, you listen but do you subscribe? Do you have your money managed by the BJGroup? Do you know his actual performance numbers and how much he leaves out of his "model portfolios"? Do you know he used to pull critical posts off his own discussion boards (even those of paid subscribers) and then closed down the boards altogether? If he's so great why can't he answer his own customer's questions?

The guy has been uncanny with market direction calls. Nobody better at calling "gift horse buying opportunities".

No doubt about it, he did well during the bull market and created a big following. He's been doing pretty much everything he can IMO in the last two years to demolish that following.

Brinker has advised "agressive" investors that they may want to try and trade the QQQ, but not to exceed 4% of ones total portfolio.

Not at all true. He advised even his conservative investors (i.e. retired or close to it) into the supposed counter trend rally in the QQQs. Max exposure was 32.5% of a portfolio, not 4%. He does not consider ETFs to be individual equities like Microsoft and Vodafone which he has held up then down again.

Then the BJGroup (wrap account firm, they take around 1.5%-2% of your capital every year as their fee I understand) put their clients into it as well.

One such time he just plain blew the call to which he admitted on his radio program.

Nope, he blew it twice. Once on the radio when he stopped out at 84 before it ran straight up and second in his newsletter. Obviously he hasn't tried it since so he hasn't had an opportunity to screw it up since.

IMO, he gets caught now and again (twice so far as I know) by a caller asking about the QQQs (his call screener hangs up on you if you try and ask about them). He gets backed into a corner and says "we were wrong" or "I was wrong" but he never explains what happened so as to fix it in the future. He promised future guidance at the start of the 2-4 month trade (starting October of 00) and, IMO, offered none until he put them on hold where they have been ever since.

So if you've got a problem with Bob Brinker, geode. Tell me specifically what your problem is rather than point me to some stupid web sites full of whiners.

My "problem" with Bob Brinker is that people take his 6 hour infomercial at face value. I did that before many people pointed out the factual inaccuracies and spin that he does.

He is great at spinning himself to look better than he is. No doubt about it, he's an entertainment bonanza but he leaves behind an image that is unsupported by his record. Hulbert, Task from RealMoney, Forbes, CBS Marketwatch, etc. are starting to see the light.

I've done lots of research on this subject and, if you have any other facts, I'd like to have them. I was a fan for many years also but have since become a critic. That's what knowing the truth can do in this situation.
