T... just scanning news over here, and for whatever reason the recession is over, if we ever had one (according to the media) in the first place. Globe and Mail reported that the housing sector here in Canada is full steam ahead. With building permits soaring 18 per cent — the highest monthly showing in more than a decade?

Didi - just posted the summary for the beige book on her thread - According to it, it looks as though the bottom is in - if anything we've past it and the turn around is in full swing.

Factory orders on the rise? A 1.7% increase this past month, excluding defense, and orders have increased the past three out of four months.

Also... in the U.S. Republicans plan to bring up a $51 billion package of business tax breaks and unemployment aid to vote tomorrow.

Methinks gold stocks are going to get a rough ride here for the short term. The news dictates that it will - everything Slider summarised yesterday still stands - it's there, and it's there now? I think the big boys pushed the day of reckoning back a little.
