Ann, Your sarcasm about the need for a big assed budget for the dickheads in the military is noted. Tonight, I listened to Terry Gross of "Fresh Air" on NPR interviewing Ridley Scott about shooting "Blackhawk Down". He allowed that the War Rackets Department sent him 8 Apaches to Morocco, along with a support staff of 135 men, at government expense, for each goddamn bird!, to aid in the production of his film. He was followed for 15 hours a day by two colonels in his jump seats in order to aid him in his story telling. Scott only got concerned about the expense of this once. It was when the suggestion was made that the staff use the helos to go out and shoot a couple of local boars in the foothills for a pig feed in this Islamic nation. Scott questioned whether the taxpayer's money was really being well spent on such an expedition. The brass demurred. Please, God, help me understand what it is you don't get about how awful a state this nation is in? .................................................... Well, if Clinton weakened it so much why has the military been totally kicking butt in Afghan. You say that Reagan's economy was good to go for 18 years and Clinton ruined the military in eight years and Bush turned it around in six months without changing a single thing? Amazing how foolish folks can be when they need to justify the answer. We have an answer Dems are bad Republicans are good, what is the question and we will justify the answer. CLINTON'S MILITARY IS KICKING BUTT, BUSH's MILITARY WILL BE HERE 36 MONTHS. The brass in the Pentagon are preserving a giant rice bowl of military welfare and the current Admin is making it worse.

Let's blow $8Bn on the Crusader and build a $$$$Bn 21st Century Maginot Line to stop some far fetched idea like 19 guys flying our planes into a couple of towers in NYC. Build those Crusaders now....that'll stop them. Clinton "weakened" the military by keeping those "ideas" from sucking up the country's treasury. Shame on him.
