Yen Rises to Highest This Year on Rally in Japanese Stocks

Tokyo, March 7 (Bloomberg) -- The yen rose to the highest this year against the dollar on speculation overseas investors are increasing their Japanese share holdings, after Merrill Lynch & CO. upgraded its outlook on Japan.

The yen strengthened to 132.20 against the dollar, compared with 130.67 in New York, when it had its biggest one-day advance in a month, rising as much as 1.4 percent. Against the euro, it rose to 114.25 from 114.51 in New York.
