See MAXF for value/growth.

Estimated 12/31/01 book value of $4.88 (not including insurance due from WTC disaster), stock at $5.15ish. Fourth quarter still beat prior year. Offered $24 million by state of NJ to relocate there but sees better growth opportunity remaining in NYC. Business mostly recovered.

ESG Reinsurance (ESREF) becomes weirder by the day. They just released earnings. Stock is at $3.10

- not only is book value $9+
- but per the release says “Excluding writedown, profit was $1.3 million.”
- If profitbable by $1.3 mill this qtr; then it's 2 straight profitable quarters
- also, SC 13G/A Filing Date: 2/14/2002, looks like SAB Sapital Partners & Scott Bommer filed a joint 13G showing ownership of a little over 25% of the shares
