Dave,

for a 50% increase in processor speed, I'd say getting only a 15% performance increase for more of your money still sucks.

The argument you present is true for any uP vendor. Do you believe that a 50% increase in QuantiSpeed will cause a greater than 15% overall system performance increase?

I disagree with your assumption. AMD offers greater performance gains from their Athlon compared to Athlon XP, than Intel does with their P3 compared to the P4.

To me it shows the P4 sucks. A tricked up processor with a high clock speed and poor performance.

Of course, we can't have a 2000Mhz P3..........

The P4 over the P3 comparison I was talking about gave a 15% gain while running 50% faster.

To disprove your point, look at the chart and the differences from the Athlon 900 and XP1600+ and XP2300+

Clearly AMD processors offer much more performance gain than Intel's processors.
