I woke up very proud of the US today. Not that I am not always proud, but sometimes it really hits me how much America means to the free world, and how strong the diverse people of America really are. We are Jews and Christians and Muslims and Hindus. We are different races, creeds, cultures and religions. We often disagree with each other. But, when America is attacked we all stand strongly and proudly together. September 11th was a extraordinary attack against America that tested the very strength and courage of the American people. What an amazing rebound from such a destructive act of terror against us! Within several months, under the great leadership of George Bush, we had vanquished an enemy that had brought Russia to it's knees after 10 years of war, and installed a new, civilized government in it's place. Just look at the stock market to show the strength of the American system. The war against terrorism isn't over yet, and it is going to take a long time, and be very costly, but with a great and diverse people, such as those who make up America, we WILL prevail. I feel very fortunate and proud being an American, especially during these dangerous and difficult times.
