I got a pitch from my bank two weeks ago saying "Nah, you don't need to split your accounts into another bank for the insurance, something really bad would have to happen for this bank to go under."

I'm thinking that guy made about $25k per year. I wrote a check and started a new account at another bank.

By the Bush/Fed reasoning, they should eliminate insurance altogether to minimize the banking system risk.

Hi Joel, between this banking insurance proposal, debasement of money, and what the japanese banks will not be implementing (insurance) starting in 23 days, one cannot help thinking that a cluster f*ck awaits us all. Rubber undie time, with precious metal maxipad, and fast. Chugs, Jay
