>>Amazon exec gives up $2.75 million bonus

The Amazon.com chief financial officer who unexpectedly announced he would resign later this year is walking away from a $2.75 million bonus.

Warren Jenson, 45, a former General Electric executive viewed as the e-retailer's voice of financial discipline, has collected only $4.65 million of a $7.4 million signing bonus he was awarded after accepting the post in 1999. Jenson said Tuesday that he would leave Amazon. The rest of his bonus was to have been in installments through September 2003, conditional on him staying another year.
