Mornng Chris and all..

on Qcharts we use ADX...Directional Movement 14-14 is the osscilator as a guide to climax's in the movements in stocks...

on the Daily candle charts anything over 50+ is a warning to the trader to be careful of a top or a bottom..this indicator is used either way up or down..it shows the pressure of the move...

so if the ADX is say at 60 and the stock is up against resistance it would be a nice short play off the daily chart and simply vice versa on a stock at the bottom or near support withthe same reading..

intraday--it's basically the same..while we are daytrading in the room, we watch ADX as an alert to exit or enter a trade using the 5 & 15 minute charts watching the futures too..an excellent trading tool for the daytrader..even the swing trader can use this indicator for swing trades..

so thats the sum and substance of the ADX..it's a key tool for my trading...
