JLA, a recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP. That never happened from 1993 to 2000 and did not happen during 2001. There never was a Clinton recession. Economic historians will refer to this period as the greatest period of economic growth in American history. It was accomplished with the help of the "biggest tax increase in American history". Sure, the Republican Congress helped but Clinton did not get in their way. In fact, he helped lead the way towards budget surpluses.
