If I'm not mistaken, when war is declared, there are some rights here at home that are curtailed, even freedom of speech.

I have to run out for a while today, but I would be interested to know what rights would be curtailed. Also........when was the last time our country declared war? Maybe I will do a little research when I get back?

That may be why Congress is reticent to make a declaration of war. I do think that if one is to be made, it has to be unmistakably done by the screaming hissies on the left. Because if I'm right about the civil rights issue, we'll be seeing leftys come out screaming about "Bush is trying to make this a dictatorship!!!!..yada yada yada crapola.......

I haven't had the time lately to follow the news. I have noticed that Daschel has gone back into his corner. If I were a citizen of SD I would be screaming at the guy, and your are right that the left would have to spearhead a drive towards a declaration of war. I suppose they will wait until the next terrorist event occurs?
