It's a little unclear to me why he called; I can only remember a handful of other occasions on which they've called, and those were either margin calls or telling me about problems with my trades (broken trades, unable to complete trade before close, etc.). I was asleep when he called, and my groggy first thought was that SUNW must have collapsed and I was getting a margin call -- given the level of my margin balance right now, that would have required a major collapse. But I think maybe they're just trying out a new service -- kind of a "heads up" on news.

He recapped the recent news on SUNW. The "analysis" as best I can remember and paraphrase it, was that SUNW had traded up this a.m. on huge volume, apparently in anticipation of tonight's mid-quarter update, but that it had given back the gains and was trading where it opened, so the rally had no "legs." He suggested I monitor the news closely.

I took that as a warning of sorts.

JMHO.
