While I'm a JNPR bull, I am also back on the sidelines. In a few weeks we will be in the preannouncement season for the current Q, and the skies may darken once again. I don't expect JNPR to have any positive guidance for a few Qs since their main customers are in severe 'hunker down' mode. The only current growth area is the edge market, but the RPU are lower there, and there is potentially more competition in that product space. The other hope would be that JNPR could generate business with the ILECs instead of other SPs, and this may even become critical in the future, depending upon who buys/runs the long-haul core IP networks.

I think in 1-2 years the growth in wavelength demand will push the next increment of capex from the IP network providers, but until then we may mostly see sales of existing 'lit' wavelengths... meaning less need for router purchases by the SPs than if they were lighting up dark fiber.

I could be wrong on this. But currently I see little upside and a lot of downside in the stock, esp if the market sentiment reverses sometime the next few months. The shorts who went to the sidelines will be much happier shorting from the 13+ range and then dumping it 50% on the 'news' we all know full well is coming in two months. If you hold your longs, you may want to hedge with puts.
