Joe- but he stated that his opinion is independent, but I gave him numerous opportunities to demonstrate it, and he flunked every single one

FWIW, I don't believe in the Intel stooge concept. If Intel wanted to influence public opinion through chat boards, they certainly would not be using people like Paul E., WannaBMW, Elmer, Tony, etc. They would use more articulate, technical savvy people to spread semi-truths.

OTOH, there are many wealthy, retired Intel employees out there. These people have a lot of money invested in Intel stock and a lot of free time. So they have a personal interest in supporting Intel stock. In a semi-formal way, these folks may be working together to promote the stock. Possible contributors would be Paul E. and Elmer but not Wanna (IMHO). Of course, these guys basically suck at influencing public opinion, so it's OK if they continue to do this (although I prefer they do it elsewhere).

That's my take on this situation.

Joe,

I'm not pointing specifically at you. I'm pointing to the people who harass him on the grounds that his personal life is relevant to discussions here. That's not what this board is about. And every time a discussion goes like...
[PERSON A]: I think X
[PERSON B]: I think ~X because Y
[PERSON C]: Stop talking, [PERSON B]. You can't make an argument, because I think you're biased.
...that, the interesting communication completely ceases and nobody is happy.
