Young Scientists to Compete for $530,000 in Prizes
(BUSINESS WIRE)--

WHAT: The Intel Science Talent Search (STS) competition involving
40 of America's brightest high school seniors is taking place
this week. The competition is the nation's oldest and most
prestigious science competition, and is often referred to as
the "Junior Nobel Prize."
Students will compete for
scholarships and prizes totaling $530,000; the top prize is a
$100,000 scholarship.

WHEN: There will be a public exhibition of Intel STS student
projects March 9 and 10 with opportunity for photographers,
TV crews and for reporters to speak with finalists. There
will be an awards ceremony the evening of March 11.

My observation has been that, in general, consumers do not care which processor is in their desktop or notebook. My nephew was looking for a notebook with a CD-RW drive in it, not a notebook with a specific processor. Typically, the reason consumers choose Celeron or Pentium based PCs is that these PCs are offered in the configurations that the consumer desires.
