I agree about your earlier experiences - I had a few men make passes at me. And I certainly didn't (IMHO) have the excuse of being good-looking, which I guess indicates that they were pretty desperate. So? I'd chat up girls I fancied, also. Men tend - tended - to be the ones doing the sexual advances in our culture. And maybe they figure girls might be more careful whereas boys are more likely 'receptive' to their message...
