No argument. The funny thing is, she said she had offered to pay more, but the landlords were afraid of getting in trouble......

Now, if she really were an honorable person, she would have offered to pay more. :-)

Reminds of the periodic b*tching and moaning about rents that breaks out here in Silicon Gulch. The economy booms, people have more money, people move in, rents go up, and the screaming about "greedy landlords" starts. And the rent control types come out from under their rocks.

Funny thing is, when things slump (like now) and landlords start offering serious incentives to renters, none of them refuse and none offer to pay more.
