Maybe you should tell the engineers at Nokia's research and wireless router divisions they've all been wasting their time for the last couple of years?!

Hey, It's bad form to remove the bulk of your post after someone has responded to it. Doesn't make for very interesting reading for other posters...

Quincy basically said in his original post that because cellular systems rely on low bandwidth legs, that any architecture that tried to put true HDR through the whole system was a waste of time. Especially if it did not provide free long distance and voice in addition to data.

This is exactly what is envisioned in All-IP networks, plus interactive television to boot. It's not all ready now, but it's not that far off either.

To suggest that we can't have really high data rates because we can't distribute the signals is simply inaccurate - there are many fiber end nodes and fixed wireless solutions that can deliver those rates in a distributed fashion today - then use the best solution to cover the last 100-1000 feet.
