Hi Thread, RE: "I don't know if the comm disappointment is specific to Intel or general to the entire industry."

There are several segments in the comm industry.

Demand has recently picked up for end-user product sales at one of the largest comm distys and at certain divisions of two rather large comm companies, so some of the comm companies' stock reacted positively to these pieces of news the other day, but this was quickly countered by the more infrastructure comm companies' less impressive news (the article posted to you covers this). So while the info was initially perceived by analysts as a mixed bag, the overall picture is a negative hue, bleak in some areas, but with turnarounds noted. I find it particularly interesting one of the largest distys for end-user comm products is experiencing a pick up in recent weeks, finally.

Regards,
Amy J
