OT, yes, I noticed.. partial response is kind of magic, at a minimum a basic fundamental thing of academic hype and sometimes of actual implementations.

Ilmarinen

I still remember when I knocked on the door of my professor and asked him about what that "partial
response" thing was about, later on I understood it. (that is, one allows some degradation
in the regular academic "perfect channel" stuff to gain, hopefully, something more important, in an
actual working implementation,GSM a good example)

The funny thing is that all actual implementations are "partial response", except in Gilders
orthogonal unimplemented space.

Still popular hype, always good for another thesis??
