Neither one of those assholes has ever had a job in the private sector. Simple market forces like supply and demand are alien to them.

Their concept of "cost" is based on what we keep -- or what the government won't get because it has "shared" our income with us.

This started in the early '70's, when the term "tax expenditure" became a liberal Democrat term for the amount of individuals' income that we were allowed to keep after taxes.

In other words, from the liberal Democrat standpoint, all income and wealth belongs to the government, and what it decides to let us keep is a "tax expenditure," now abbreviated as "cost."

Today's headlines were about the compromise stimulus bill passed by the House. The media reported the tax reduction (amount of taxpayers' own money that they can keep) as the "cost" of the bill -- entirely in keeping with the socialist, lockstep thinking of the Democrats and liberal media.
