Alsuezi - You said, " the ONLY thing Muslims should do is to discuss Islam with everyone… then people would see for themselves that such acts does not represent Islam… " I was born and raised in the US. My whole life I've been taught not to judge people by their color, religion or ethnic heritage. I've been taught, and deeply believe, that the only right way to judge a person is by their actions. Frankly, I am not so interested in what is written in your Holy Quran, as I am in knowing how Muslim people today are actually interpreting those writings and how they are acting based what they believe. What are Muslim leaders teaching and advising people to do? That is an area the the US media clearly does not cover well. I would suggest to you, that if you want to improve the image of Islam, the one best thing you could do would be to highlight the actions of Islamic leaders today to eliminate terrorism and hate. Do we not see that type of report because the US media is myopic, or does it not exist?

which leads me to think that you don’t really have any interest whatsoever to find out what Islam is… Here, a rare moment of comprehension dawning upon you, and you are absolutely correct: Americans do not give a damn about a religion which advocates mass murder of our fellow citizens. The poll bore that out. However, some of us have researched the roots of this modern-day evil to see if modern behavior is rooted in the past, the teachings of Islam. We have found that it most certainly does.
