We were getting along just fine without your intervention..." it's nice that you jump to your friend's support, but you must realize, no one has asked for your friend's opinion either! no one has asked for anyone's opinion, and perhaps that's what it will take for you to see what this is all about. the thread header asks for quotes. that's what this thread has always been about. quotes. quotes that speak for themselves. imo, twfowler was respectful in his post, not in the least was he anything approaching "spewing your animosity". here, read it again... "Raymond, You could make the same quotes without your editorial comments. You might even get more people to pay attention to your ideas (or really the ideas of the people you quote) without annoying as many people. "So off you go to were you came from, unless of course you have a quote to post", i refer you to yet another line from your post... "keep your own comments to yourself and stop telling others what to do" why do you find fault and take such strong exception to people respectfully asking another si member to adhere to the thread guidelines?
