Dear Steve: Its true PRIVATE money has a "multiplier" effect been years since I majored in Economics but I seem to recall a multiple of 6. However, I will take the money now from whence it comes!! hehe
Dont know about the rest of you but I thought the conference call was about as favorable as one could expect for now. Certainly not the gloom and doom Soundview and others were proposing. Could they have shorted?? I dont trust any of these so called ANALysts anymore. I think they are all crooks and hope the SEC gets some REAL STRONG POWERS soon to put liars and cheats in jail. JDN

Even the purchase of Pet Rocks can boost the economy. GDP is neutral when it comes to evaluating the "quality" of purchasing decisions. Raising the specter of communism doesn't save the argument.

One might even argue that wasteful purchasing boosts the economy more, since it leaves the "good" demand unsatisfied.

JMHO.
