Dale,

AMD even admitted - they have ESSENTIALLY ZERO MARKET SHARE IN SERVERS !!<

>>What has this got to do with Intel dropping prices because of AMD's threat? Have you not heard of a preemptive strike.

Besides, I know I read this on some website. I just can't remember whether the website was more credible than Dan3.

Pre-emptive strike against a rival product that has gotten nowhere in 9 months? And, why should it get any further until at least another 9 months when Hammer comes out? Having a lot of babies here with all the 9 months. Oi. I think Intel's aggressive pricing is intended to goose the server market some more, which Andy Bryant said is coming back sooner than expected. He also said one reason margins were expected to be higher this quarter, but in the range, was due to Xeon sales. I don't think Intel is about to negate this factor now. Margins are almost as sacred at Intel as yields. Intel's 0.13 must be very healthy, as Elmer and Paul are saying.
