I don't think there was much tweaking. Alot of companies reported surprises on the upside. Sales really were good across the board, so I'm not so sure it was game playing.

Compaq changed account methods, told everyone they changed them, and told everyone the impact of the change. $82 million dollars. Earl Mason is long gone.
