WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) expects first quarter gross margins to be "relatively flat" compared with its fourth quarter gross margins, according a Form 10K filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company posted gross margins of about $307.2 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2001. Its gross margin was about 32.3% of fourth quarter net sales of about $951.9 million.

Advanced Micro Devices also said it expects other integrated circuit product sales to be relatively flat compared with its fourth quarter integrated circuit product sales.

The company earlier reported fourth quarter integrated circuit product sales of $51 million.
