DELL BRINGS HIGH-TECH TOUCH TO SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST FESTIVAL; COMPANY SPONSORS INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED ENTERTAINMENT CONFERENCE ENTERTAINMENT EDITORS & HIGH-TECH/FILM/MUSIC WRITERS AUSTIN,

10:00 ET AUSTIN, Texas--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 11, 2002--One of the nation's leading film, music and echnology festivals is getting a helping hand from one of the world's leading technology companies.
Dell (Nasdaq:DELL.Q) announced today that it is an equipment host of the 16th Annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference and Festival, now under way in Austin. SXSW has become a well-known event in the entertainment industry and hosts one of the largest
interactive events in the country.

As a leading contributor Dell is providing computers to be used by attendees and SXSW staff. Media covering the events can check e-mail, listen to audio clips and watch multimedia presentations on Dell systems. Additionally, the systems will be used by panelists and by directors in the Filmmaker Lounge.
The backing reflects Dell's commitment to filmmakers and musicians who often have limited budgets when transforming their vision into art using mediums such as streaming video and audio.
"Computer technology is helping independent filmmakers and musicians realize their dreams without emptying their wallets," said David Marmonti, vice president of marketing for Dell's consumer group.
"The SXSW conference promotes the important role technology plays in entertainment and we are thrilled to be a part of it."
Dell equipment will also be used to support the Web Awards Program and will be the platform for the Iron Webmaster Showdown, both part of the interactive portion of the festival. The three-part conference runs through Sunday, March 17.
