willcousa,

Re: We will know we have the right formula on the taxation of multinationals when some of them move here

I have to completely disagree with you. The multinationals are not driven by concern for the communities they sell their goods to, nor to the people they employ, nor do they care to pay for the infrastructure that they hope to have provided for free. They are merely takers, not givers, in spite of the dribbled out charity that is merely for show. The multinationals need to be coerced to pay taxes and take responsibility for their costs, or else they will simply do what an amoral capitalist will always do, whatever it takes to reduce costs. No matter what the cost to civilization or the community. The multinationals are vulgar and one-dimensional. They have only one goal, profit. They need to be brought to task by the rest of us, who hope for a decent world, because the corporations are incapable of seeing the big picture, obsessed and blinded as they are with the amassing of money.
