I thought about this whole issue in the car.
How could someone think mere posting to someone in an anonymous medium makes a "friendship?" Clearly people have very different ideas of friendship. I give my friendship sparingly, because for me it entails many duties. Pleasant duties when done for people that are close to my heart- but it would be horrible to do these things for people I esteem less.

Clearly some people equate "acquaintances" with "friends." I do not. The duty I owe to everyone in the world is compassion and fairness- not that I always do my duty, but who does? The duty I owe to my friends is much greater, and I do not wish to detail it here. And what I expect from them is that they satisfy my expectations. Which is expecting a lot. What I did for you I would do for almost any person in your situation. There are a very few people I simply could not aid- and I would feel that was wrong of me. However I would allow myself to do that wrong. Obviously you are not one of those people.
