Kirk et al,
All of this has been pointed out on numerous occasions. Whenever i got tired of ad's posts, i would put him on ignore. What i learned from AD is not to even begin to try to go down that road. I cannot understand where the groundswell came from for him to leave this thread. And coincidentally the timing of his post about the "family" deciding to sell out of amat makes no sense to me at all.
Anyway, everybody has a different view of this thread. My occasional political posts or general economic ones upset one group; ads upset you and so on. I like the amat thread because a diverse group of intelligent people contribute. Some are pragmatic, some are emotional, some trade, some are long termers. I am tired of the constant calls for new amat threads. Until today there has been no problem since 9/11. mike

Thanks Kirk. You're correct in that the hedge angle does offer advantages. I still believe however that it has had a minimal impact on my actual trading results. I guess it all depends on one's frame of mind.
