the way i see it, it took talking up patriotism and MASSIVE money supply growth to get the market up late last year. basically, they called upon patriotism to nudge the clowns to add more risk to their already over levered enronesque family balance sheets. since then, some of the clowns lost their jobs so won't be able to add risk and other clowns are returning to doubting, confusion and fear. anecdotally, i was in bay area this week and guess what...many tech clowns are sending their 401k money to money market funds...maria would call that money on the sidelines eh? -g-
