AirNet signs $10 million deal with TECORE
MELBOURNE, Fla., March 8 (Reuters) - Wireless equipment maker AirNet Communications Corp. (NasdaqNM:ANCC - news) on Friday said it received more than $10 million in orders from TECORE Wireless Systems to provide base stations and other equipment for a network in Central Asia.

Shares of AirNet rose 36 cents, or 60 percent, to 96 cents on Nasdaq in afternoon trade.

``These purchase orders are only for the initial systems in five cities and will have a significant positive impact on AirNet's business,'' the company said in a news release.

Columbia, Maryland-based TECORE develops switching products for smaller wireless markets.
