...and are the services received any better? Certainly not in medicine, where everything takes more and more time on the part of more and more people, to acquire the same (or perhaps marginally better) service compared with, say 10-15 years ago. Try getting a procedure approved from your local HMO! I call this "degredation of service", and it's not accounted for in hedonic adjustments.
