With the ton of money Intel made off their cameras and the money piling up from selling cheap routers and NICs, I'm sure their dedication to their new optical strategy will pay off as well.

No wonder they don't care about 700Mhz Xeons.

The problem is that you are both wrong. Large cache Xeon multiway servers are not being replaced by systems based on the fastest small cache Xeons, they are being replaced by PIIIM based blade servers.
