Agreed Gordon, there are many ways to deter. One could make the arguement that Bush is showinga good deal of leadership in putting this out there. He knows the Leftist peaceniks, many of whom already have their panties in a knot will make political hay with this but the real deal is "what message does this send the terror groups"? The leaders of which need to survive in order to have their victory. You don't see Arafatass, Sadomizer, or Beanladened out there strappin bombs to themselves do ya? No, they use cannonfodder for that. Well if your one of these guys and the Crazy Cowboy from the Lone Star State says he's thinking of stickin a nuke in your rump PREEMPTIVELY, well, they gotta be rethinkin things.... Not a bad detterence......
