I've been told that the wags south of the Rio Grande have a term for the U.S., i.e. "useful idiots". Translation help would be appreciated. I recall it to be "tonto...sumpin' or other".

Phil Ochs ... that sure brings back the memories! I have him on an album of topical songs from the 1963 Newport Folk Festival, along with Bog Dylan, Joan Baez, and Tom Paxton. He introduces this song with one of my favorite quotes: "In every great tragedy, there's always an element of the ridiculous present"...
