Re: They are offering Pentium 4-M based notebooks right now

They are offering to take your money right now. I posted a link to a story that says the systems won't be shipping for another month.

I also pointed out that the P4 notebooks that were actually available in stores were using desktop parts and speculated that Intel's motivation for doing a paper launch was to slow down the spread of notebooks using non-mobile P4s.

wbmw,

Are you saying that you cannot buy a Pentium 4-M based laptop from these places?

Ok, I tried:
-your IBM link is dead. Looking around IBM site, P-4 notebooks show availability as "Call" as opposed to "In-Stock"
commerce.www.ibm.com
-Dell site says: "Dell currently anticipates that the Inspiron 8200 notebook will be ready to ship on or about April 1, 2002. Your order confirmation will provide an estimated ship date."
dell.com
-Your link to the Toshiba site, when I click on "Configure and price", it brings up Mobile P-iiii, not P4. When I look at "Compare all Tecra notebooks", and click on all Tecra models, all have a "Configure and Price" url, except one. Guess which one?
-Compaq site says: "• Latest Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with Enhanced Speedstep™ technology - Mobile Intel P4 1.7GHz-M. Pre-Book your order Now!"
athome.compaq.com

Seems like your links don't stand up against the ones from Dell, IBM, Toshiba, and Compaq. They are offering Pentium 4-M based notebooks right now; therefore, there doesn't seem to be any indication of either a paper launch, nor a rush to market.

Your links don't stand up, and Dan's do. In a situation like this, you (and others) call Dan a liar and moron, such as here: #reply-17173824 here #reply-17154240 here #reply-17171009 here #reply-17056275.

Perhaps apology to Dan is in order, apology for posting (and re-posting several times) wrong information about P4 not being a paper launched - when by most indications P4 launch is a paper launch.
