Korea, China to sign MOU on 4G mobile service

The Ministry of Information and Communication said yesterday that Korea and China will sign a memorandum of understanding next month on cooperation in 4th-generation mobile communication technology.

The MOU represents the two government's efforts to establish jointly a standard for 4th-generation mobile technology and push it as an international standard.

The ministry said the two countries also agreed to launch a policy cooperation forum on 4th-generation mobile technology and promote mutual visits of related officials and experts for seminars twice a year.

The two countries will also seek to build on cooperation in mobile technology to establish ties in the whole gamut of information technology, including broadband Internet, software and digital TV, the ministry said.
